Sign up required to post comments due to Spam
Hey all,
Due to the crazy about of comment spamming from porn and drug bots, I have set my journal to sign up required for anyone that wants to leave a comment. My apologies for the inconvenience, but I’m tired of cleaning out 100 spam comments a day. You can sign up HERE.

Are you using WordPress for comments? I see no ‘wordpress’ in the page address nor at the bottom.

Don’t they require you to leave a ‘Powered by WordPress’ or something like that?
Not that I know of…
i know exactly what you mean. i was getting like 30000 (email) spams a week. seriously.
then i changed hosts. i got maybe 100 this past week, thank god.
Well while it was a problem you did a great job of controling it. I don’t recall ever seeing a spam comment.
I know how much a pain in the rear all that spam can be. This will probable make things a lot easier for you.

Why not just use a spam plug-in like Akismet. It works wonders and saves all the faff of everyone signing up…
